Today is my turn on the Knight Hoodie tour by Charmingdoodle! I was more than honored when Elisa asked me to be part of the tour and couldn’t wait to sew up a hoodie for my son. It was such a fun hoodie to make! When I first saw the photos I thought it would take me quite a while to make it since it had a lot of details but it came together so nicely and really didn’t take long at all! When I opened the pdf file I think I literally said “how cute” out loud. It’s definitely the cutest pattern I have seen complete with such cute little knight illustrations It sounds weird but the illustrations actually got me excited to start making my hoodie!
The pattern recommends sweatshirt fleece but I didn’t have any and I originally planned on lining mine but once I got around to making it all the snow outside had melted and the sun had been shining and it’s starting to feel like spring so I decided to ditch the lining and leave it as a light weight hoodie that will be perfect for spring. The material I used is from Joann’s. It’s a light weight almost suiting like material. I got it at the red tag section. It worked out perfectly for my hoodie. I decided to use faux leather from Michael Levine for the arms and really like how it turned out.
I’m from California and one of our recent trips back home we took my son to Medieval Times and he LOVED it!! When he saw this hoodie he couldn’t wait to put it on and said it was just like the “knights in California.”
About 15 minutes from our house here in Utah there is a storage unit that looks like a castle. We decided we would head on out there for a little photo shoot. Tyson and I both had a blast!
