Summer Fashion in Paris (Inspiration – Bonpoint) – And a little farewell to Blog Land

When Kelly of Sewing in No Man’s Land asked if I wanted to participate in her Summer in Paris series I said yes right away but I honestly had no idea about Paris style and fashion.  I loved following her Instagram account of all of her travels in Paris so I knew I wanted to learn more about their children’s fashion.  Thanks to my friend Celina of Petit a Petit and Family I discovered the French children’s clothing brand Bonpoint.

I immediately fell in love with everything I saw and knew I wanted to draw my inspiration for my Paris look from their summer 2014 collection.  I love the flowy tops and dresses and the flower headpieces and the soft colors.   Hopefully what I came up with represents French children’s fashion.  If it doesn’t, well, I love what I came up with anyway and my girls will get lot’s of use out of their new outfits.

To make their outfits I used the Bubble Pocket shorts by Elegance and Elephants in a light grey/blue stripe denim.  For the top, I used the Olivia Top by Cali Faye Collection in a floral cotton lawn with a white chiffon overlay.  For the dress, I used the Viola Blouse pattern by Cali Faye Collection in a light grey/lavender polka dot challis.  The flower crowns were made with jute and some flower clippings from my yard.  Their shoes are the Rosie Loafers from Joyfolie.

Now on to a bit of an announcement I guess.  This post happens to be the last post I committed to for the summer and will be forever.  Well, I guess maybe I shouldn’t say forever since that is pretty permanent but for right now it will be forever.  Blogging has been great and has given me lot’s of fun sewing opportunities in the short time I have been sewing/blogging but my heart is just not in it.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sew and will never quit sewing and learning new things but the blogging part is just not for me.  I will continue to share my sewing projects on my Instagram account so if you are one of my few blog followers you can follow me there if you would like.  I’m excited to spend more time with my family and sewing and photographing my kids.  All things that I am passionate about.  Blogging for the last 6 months or so has just kind of get in the way of that.  There are so many hours that go into keeping up a blog and it is just not something I am passionate about.  Anyways, hopefully, I will see you on IG and we can inspire each other there!

I will leave you with a million photos of my girls in their French-inspired clothing.  You can find my IG account HERE.
